Centennial Airport
FAR Part 150 Study
Englewood, Colorado

The airport is divided by the Arapahoe/Douglas County line and is located in the southern portion of the Denver Metropolitan Area. Centennial is a primary reliever to Denver International Airport and has the distinction of being the busiest general aviation airport in the Mountain West.
Surrounding the airport, there are several incorporated communities that are influenced by the airport and aircraft operations. West and northwest of the airport is intense business, commercial and retail developments (the Denver Technological Center is located in this area). Land use immediately adjacent airport boundary is compatible business/industrial/office type development. Significant areas of existing, and some potential, residential non-compatible land uses reside within the immediate airport environs, especially in the fast growing residential areas of Douglas County, south of the airport.. Significant corporate jet activity has led to numerous noise complaints, both north and south of the airport.
An extensive citizen involvement/participation program led to a set of recommendations that provided some noise relieve to all sections of the community and the recommendation to prepare an FAR Part 161 Study.
