Boca Raton Airport (BCT) is located in the City of Boca Raton, along the Atlantic Seashore. Boca is a primary reliever airport in the busy metropolitan corridor of Coastal Florida between Palm Beach and Miami. Significant amounts of corporate and small package cargo aircraft utilize BCT on a daily basis. Considerable areas of existing residential and other non-compatible land uses reside within the immediate airport environs. This one runway general aviation airport is home to 285 aircraft and has approximately 135,000 annual aircraft operations. Boca’s runway is 6,200 feet in length.

Barnard Dunkelberg & Company is part of a team tasked with the responsibility of implementing the recommendation of the Noise Compatibility Plan (NCP) for Boca’s Part 150 Noise and Land Use Compatibility Study. Principally, our team has been engaged to oversee the successful execution of the most significant and highly-valued portions of the NCP; namely: flight track and noise monitoring, process validation and contractor selection for the sound attenuation program, investigation of a Stage I Aircraft Ban and other important noise and land use compatibility program elements.

Substantial corporate jet activity has led to numerous noise complaints, both north and south of the airport. Surrounding the airport, there are several incorporated communities that are influenced by the airport and aircraft operations and are integral to the successful implementation of the NCP. In addition to the City of Boca Raton, these communities include: Delray Beach, Highland Beach and Palm Beach.
