Little Rock National Airport (LIT) is a medium-hub facility and is the busiest air carrier airport in the state of Arkansas. Little Rock, as the state’s capital, provides a strong and definable market area for commercial passenger service. The central location within the state provides for a primary and secondary air service area with a population of approximately 1.2 million. In addition to Little Rock’s robust economy led by State Government and banking, it is home to such notable attractions as the Clinton Presidential Library and the River Market District.

Little Rock National Airport is also a thriving corporate aviation center with the Dassault-Falcon Jet facility located at LIT; all corporate jet aircraft sold worldwide by Dassault-Falcon are finished in Little Rock. Raytheon Corporation also has a business jet completion center for the Hawker located at the Airport. Residential development proximate to LIT is north, south, and southeast of Airport property with a commercial/industrial mix to the west. This busy Airport is a 3-runway complex with 187 based aircraft and approximately 182,000 annual aircraft operations. The main runway is 8,270 feet in length and the Airport’s elevation is 262 feet MSL.

  • Confirmation of Airfield Development Program, including the extension of two of the airport’s three runways.
  • Programming for taxiway system improvements, including proposed east side parallel taxiway system.
  • Complete passenger terminal area redevelopment analysis and alternative recommendations.
  • Complete general aviation area redevelopment analysis and alternative recommendations.
  • Programming for improved landside access, including transit.
  • Incorporation of Airport Commission’s long-term land acquisition goals into Master Plan.
  • Security audit and risk assessment.
