Buchanan Field
Master Plan
Concord, California

Barnard Dunkelberg & Company has been selected to lead a team of eight firms to prepare an Airport Master Plan, FAR Part 150 Study and Strategic Business Plan for Buchanan Field, a busy General Aviation Reliever Airport located in Contra Costa County, California. This four-runway airport has 580 based aircraft and 157,000 annual airport operations.
Critical to the development of this planning program will be a sensitive right-sized approach to airport development
issues and community needs. The airport is located within a highly developed urban corridor and is landlocked. Special attention will need to be paid to on-site development, in-fill, and redevelopment opportunities.
The Part 150 component will need to focus on on-site mitigation efforts and arrival and departure flight track modifications. The Strategic Business Plan component must determine the highest and best use for remaining airport property and suggest development opportunities that will maximize additional airport revenues. A Steering Committee of sixty (60) has been established for this Program of Services.
